Here Am I

19 May 2019

Region: London

Jim Grover's latest social documentary project tells the story of the 25 years since women were admitted to the priesthood of the Church of England for the first time.  To tell this story, commissioned by the Bishop of Southwark, Jim Grover followed 12 very different female priests in the Diocese to capture a flavour of the rich diversity of women's ministry.

Jim's project represents key moments in their life, ministry and personal faith. During the project, he recorded in-depth interviews with each of them which combine to form an extraordinary opportunity to explore the female perspective on Church leadership.

Jim has photographed and written many social photo-documentaries, but this is the third to be exhibited at gallery@oxo, and follows last year’s acclaimed "Windrush:  Portrait of a Generation" exhibition and his previous very moving documentary "Of Things Not Seen:  A Year in the Life of a London Priest".
